San Damiano 2
Exciting project, I must say! After priming and sanding cross and nimbus, I applied a very thin layer of size, consisting of rabbit skin glue, destilled water and a small amount of yellow ochre just to get a most even distribution. I left it to dry, between 10-12 hours. After that two layers of yellow poliment, bound in a mixture of beaten egg white, a little destilled water and just a few drops of rabbit skin glue.

The next step will lead me into sketching in the figures, so that I will be able to control the following application of red poliment, which will mark subsequent gilding. Puuuuuuh.

The next steps will be posted very shortly.
